MVP
Elijah Trest, White Oak
By the numbers: Trest was 11-1 on the bump with a 0.68 ERA and two saves. He struckout 130 against just 30 base on balls in 91.2 innings. The Arkansas Razorbacks signee tossed three no-hitters in the playoffs for a White Oak team that lost in the regional finals to eventual state champion Beckville. Trest also batted .367 with 8 home runs, 7 doubles, 6 triples, 36 RBI and 30 runs scored. He was also 12 of 13 in stolen bases.
NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR
Chase Hampton, Kilgore
By the numbers: Hampton turned in a sophomore showing of 8-1 on the mound with one save and a 1.65 ERA. He recorded 81 Ks and walked 33 in 66.1 innings. Hampton, who went 4-1 in postseason as Kilgore got to the regional finals before succumbing to eventual state champ Argyle, tossed a no-hitter against Center. He also batted .385 with a double and 28 RBI.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Jason Causey, Beckville
By the numbers: Causey took his Beckville Bearcats to the mountaintop this year. After leading the Bearcats to the state finals in 2016, only to come up short, Causey grabbed the brass ring in 2018. Beckville rolled to a school record 36 wins and captured the first state title in school history. Causey, a former college assistant at Panola, has carved a four-year record of 124-19, setting the school record for wins in a season twice.

TEAM: New Diana
GRADE: Senior
BY THE NUMBERS: Burton went 8-2 with an 0.95 ERA. He fanned 137 and just walked 30 in 63.1 innings. The Arkansas-bound Burton also batted .328 with 5 home runs and 21 RBI.
COOPER RAWLS
TEAM: Hallsville
GRADE: Senior
BY THE NUMBERS: Rawls, his district’s MVP, went 10-1 with a 1.99 ERA, 107 Ks, 20 walks in 73.2 innings of work. TJC signee.
JAVAN SMITHERMAN
TEAM: Kilgore
GRADE: Senior
BY THE NUMBERS: Smitherman went 10-2 on the bump with 138 strikeouts and a 1.20 ERA. He only issued 18 free passes in 87.1 innings. The Dallas Baptist commit batted .340 with a homer and 34 RBI.
BEN BRIDGES
TEAM: Beckville
GRADE: Senior
BY THE NUMBERS: Bridges hit .445 with one round-tripper, 17 doubles, 1 triple and 58 RBI. He stole five bases and carried a .645 slugging percentage. Bridges was also selected defensive MVP in his district.

GRADE: Senior
BY THE NUMBERS: Mack hit .366 with 3 homers, 10 doubles, 19 RBI and 22 runs scored.

REN REYNOLDS
TEAM: Kilgore
GRADE: Senior
BY THE NUMBERS: Reynolds had a .464 average, doubled 13 times, had 4 triples and drove in 18 runs. He also crossed the dish 44 times for the regional finalist Bulldogs and was a perfect 16 of 16 on steals.

BY THE NUMBERS: Seahorn batted .406, had 5 dingers, 2 doubles and 36 RBI. He only struckout twice in 96 ABs and scored 23 runs

BY THE NUMBERS: Hood was .481 at the plate with 9 home runs, 12 doubles, 9 triples, 53 RBI and 59 runs scored. He was also 26 of 28 on stolen base attempts for the regional finalist Roughnecks.

BY THE NUMBERS: Bickerdike went .375 at the dish with 11 doubles, 1 triple, 28 runs scored and 24 base thefts. He also fielded his position at a .980 percentage.

GRADE: Senior
BY THE NUMBERS: Johnson hit .410, homered once, doubled four times with a couple triples. He plated 26 runs and was 16 of 17 stealing bases for the Tigers.

BY THE NUMBERS: Siegley hit .348 with 4 homers, 2 doubles and 3 triples. He added 28 RBI and swiped 20 bases for the Roughnecks.

BY THE NUMBERS: Harris was .374 batting, blasted two homers, doubled a dozen times and tripled four times. On the mound, Harris was 6-1 with a 3.38 ERA, 38 Ks in 31 innings of work for the state champion Bearcats.
