Katy Tompkins’ Jace LaViolette Named THSB Hitter of the Year

LaViolette had a batting average of .591 and a slugging percentage of 1.307. He had 32 extra base hits this year including 9 Doubles, 12 Triples and 11 Home Runs. He had 53 RBIs and scored 55 Runs. He captured the 6A Hitter’s Triple Crown by leading all 6A players in Average and RBIs and tying for the lead in Home Runs. He also led all 6A players in Triples and was 3rd in Runs Scored and tied for 4th in Hits.
On April 12, LaViolette hit for the cycle against Morton Ranch going 4-4 with a single, a double, a triple and a home run, knocking in 6 RBIs and scoring 4 runs.
LaViolette and the Katy Tompkins Falcons advanced to the Regional Semifinals where they lost to Ft. Bend Ridge Point. It was the longest run in the baseball playoffs in Tompkins’ history.
LaViolette was named the 19-6A MVP and was selected to the THSBCA 6A All-Star Elite Team. He was also named an American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings High School All-American
LaViolette will play at Texas A&M next season.
