Laredo Alexander’s Mario Garcia Gets Win #300

 admin  |    Apr 10th, 2015

It’s been a special year so far for the Laredo Alexander Bulldogs and Coach Mario Garcia. The Bulldogs were ranked #2 in the 6A Preseason rankings and have marched to a 15-1 season record and 8-0 29-6A district record. Alexander’s success this year is especially sweet for Coach Garcia because he shares this season with son, Sr CF Chipper Garcia.

Tuesday night, April 7, marked another special moment for Garcia and the Alexander Bulldogs, not only in 2015, but in Coach Garcia’s coaching career. Alexander’s 5-0 win over Laredo United South was the 300th win of Coach Garcia’s career, a huge milestone marking the success that Coach Garcia has had at Alexander. But the 300th win had some special moments that Coach Garcia will never forget. For starters, Jr P Sergio Marcias threw a No-Hitter, allowing only 2 baserunners with walks and striking out 12. And Coach Garcia’s son, Chipper also had a big hand in the win, getting on base 3 times with 2 singles and a walk and scoring a run.  Also special to Coach Garcia was the realization that the whole team had been talking about the upcoming milestone and played a big part of the celebration of the 300th win.

Texas High School Baseball website congratulates Coach Mario Garcia on his 300th win and celebrates the circumstances that made it a special moment for Coach Garcia and the Alexander community.
