Midland Christian Advances to D1 Championship Game with 11-2 Win

The Midland Christian bats continued to be hot as they banged out 13 hits to take the 11-2 win over District foe Nolan Catholic in the first D1 semifinal game. Midland Christian advances to the State Championship on Thursday and will face the winner of the St. Thomas/Concordia Lutheran semifinal contest.

Midland Christian scored the first run of the game in the top of the 1st when Trip Pennington walked and Luke Greenlee doubled him home. But the Mustangs broke the game open in the top of the 3rd when they scored 7 runs on 6 hits.

Cody Grebeck picked up 3 of the hits with a double and 2 RBIs and scored 2 runs. He was named the THSB Player of the Game.

Meanwhile, Greenlee did his part on the mound limiting the Nolan Catholic Vikings to 2 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits in 6 innings to pick up the win. Chandler Caraway came in to pitch a scoreless 7th to finish the game.
