Midland Classical Advances to TAPPS Division 4 Championship Game in Wild Victory

Midland Classical scored 8 runs in the last 2 innings and Paul McMillan shut down Temple Christian in the last 4 innings as Midland Classical gets a 12-8 come from behind win in the TAPPS Division 4 State Semifinal Game. Midland Classical will now face Central Texas Christian in the Division 4 State Championship Game at 12:30 PM on Wednesday.

Midland Classical started the game with a 2 run top of the 1st and scored 2 more in the 3rd to take a 4-1 lead. Temple Christian scored a run in the bottom of the 4th to cut the Midland Classical lead to 4-2. But in the bottom of the 5th, Temple Christian exploded for 6 runs to take an 8-4 lead. After a scoreless 6th for Midland Classical, things were looking good for Temple Christian.

After stopping the Temple Christian rally in the 5th, McMillan held Temple Christian scoreless in the 6th. Down 8-4, Midland Classical had their own rally in the top of the 7th. After scoring 2 runs to cut the lead to 8-6, Josh Patterson hit a 2 RBI single to tie the game.

McMillan once again shut down Temple Christian in the 7th to send the game into extra innings. Midland Classical exploded for 4 more runs in the 8th and McMillan once again held Temple Christian scoreless in the 8th to secure the Midland Classical win.

McMillan finished the last 4 innings giving up no hits, no runs and striking out 3. McMillan was named the THSB Player of the Game.
