Recap of Day 1 of the Comal ISD Guadalupe River Classic Tournament
admin | Mar 2nd, 2018Favorites Reagan and Churchill took care of business today with each team finishing 2-0 after the Day 1 Games of the Comal ISD Guadalupe River Classic.
Reagan, 4-3, the 6A Preseason #1 team got a walk-off single in the bottom of the 7th from Hilton Brown to beat Boerne Champion 2-1 and then shut out Del Valle 8-0. Churchill, 4-0, the 6A Preseason #3 team, beat Schertz Clemens 6-3 in the early game and Kyle Lehman 7-2 in the afternoon game.
But it was 4A Boerne and 6A Buda Hays who had the biggest day. Both teams were 2-0 and had the highest run differential (15) of all 2-0 teams. The run differential is the first tiebreaker to determine teams in the Championship Bracket. Boerne beat Madison 8-1 and Ft. Bend Clements 10-0. Hays beat San Marcos 8-0 and Seguin 9-2.
Other teams finishing 2-0 on Day 1 were Smithson Valley, Kerrville Tivy, Katy Tompkins, and Dripping Springs.
