San Antonio Reagan went on a hit barrage, led by Seth Morrow, and Jake Hoggatt limited Round Rock to 1 run as Reagan took a 7-1 victory over Round Rock in the 6A State Semifinal Game. Reagan will meet Deer Park at 4 PM Saturday in the 6A State Championship Game.

Reagan started things off in the top of the 1st. Leadoff hitter Hilton Brown singled and moved to 2nd on an errant throw from the outfield. Porter Brown followed with a nice bunt single to put runners on the corner. Ramon Garza hit into a double play but Hilton Brown scored on the play giving Reagan a 1-0 lead.

Round Rock tied the game in the bottom of the 3rd, loading the bases with no outs on back to back singles by Jordan Williams and Dalton Watts and a nice bunt single by Jake Miller. Williams scored on a sacrifice fly by Aidan Shephardson but that was all Round Rock could get out of the inning.

Reagan broke the game open in the top of the 4th. Cade Bormet lead off with a single. Josh Killeen bunted but Grant Miller’s throw to 1st was off and Killeen and Bormet advanced to 2nd and 3rd. Seth Morrow then hit a triple scoring both baserunners. Morrow then scored on a Cal Martin Sac Fly. Brookover continued the scoring with a single and later scoring on infield error giving Reagan a 5-1 lead.

Reagan widened their lead to 7-1 with runs in 5th and the 6th. Morrow picked up his 3rd RBI of the game with an RBI double in the 5th and Ramon Garza had an RBI single in the 6th.

Seth Morrow was 3-4 with a 2b and a 3B.  Porter Brown was 2-3 with a triple.  The Rattlers had 10 hits in all and also drew 4 bases on balls.

Winning Pitcher Jake Hoggatt was very effective on the mound for Reagan giving up only 1 run on 8 hits. He struck out 4 and only gave up 1 run.

Seth Morrow on his 3 hits against Grant Miller – “I knew that guy was a good pitcher and I knew he was going to throw strikes. I just went up and looked for a good pitch to get a good swing and it just worked tonight.”

Jake Hoggatt on his success tonight – “I didn’t come in here thinking I was going to mow them down. We knew they were a good team. They are here for a reason. They got their hits, we got ours. Thank God we got more!”
