Drew Romo is a 6’1” 205 Catcher for the 6A The Woodlands Highlanders. He has committed to Louisiana State University.

High School Baseball

In his junior year, Romo hit .397 with 17 2Bs, 4 HRs, 35 RBIs, a .484 OBP and a .697 SLG Pct. He had a .993 Fielding Pct and caught 11 runners stealing. He was named to the 15-6A All-District Team as a 1st Team Catcher and selected as the All-Montgomery Country Defensive MVP. Romo was named to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches’ Association 6A All-State Team as a 1st Team Catcher and to the Texas Sports Writers Association 6A All-State Team as a 2nd Team Catcher. Nationally, he was named to the Collegiate Baseball High School All-American Team as a 2nd Team Catcher and to the Max Preps Underclass All-American Baseball Team.

As a sophomore, Romo hit .326 with 8 2Bs, 2 3Bs, 3 HRs and 28 RBIs. He was named to the 12-6A All District Team as a 1st Team Catcher. He was also selected to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches’ Association 6A All-State Team as a 2nd Team Catcher and to the Texas Sports Writers Association 6A All-State Team as an Honorable Mention Catcher.

In his freshman year, Romo hit .405 with 7 2Bs, 2 3Bs and 22 RBIs. He was named the 12-6A Newcomer of the Year. He was also named to the Texas Sports Writers Association 6A All-State Team as an Honorable Mention Catcher.
