Interview

We dubbed 26-6A as the toughest district in 6A. Talk about playing in that district.

Well, it was fun. I think it was a good experience for our entire team. I think that we fought really well in our district, and I think it does nothing but make us better and prepares us for the end of the season to face the gauntlet that we have in playoffs.

What do you like about this year’s team?

I like our bats, just like last year. We have a lot of returning bats, and I think that this team can really do some damage at the plate. And early in the game, I can see us striking first in a lot of games and putting some teams away.

How good can this Dripping Springs team be?

With the people that we have on this squad this year, I think the sky’s the limit. I think the chemistry is the best that is I’ve ever seen. And all the dudes have really bought in to the process. I think that this off season has really been a statement to how dedicated these guys can be.

What’s going to be the challenge for Dripping Springs?

We have to stay healthy, just like every other team in the state. We’re all looking to keep a full squad throughout the year. We just have to make sure that we don’t lose any key components through injury and stuff, because it’s a long season, and we have to be able to go full throttle from February to June.

Why Tenneessee?

I fell in love the coaching staff. It is a great coaching staff there. I think that they’re really committed to developing me how I want to be developed. And they always seem to look out for my best interests, and they look for the interest of my abilities. They really focus on the players and I respect that.
