Mike Weatherly, who was to begin his 6th year as the Ft. Bend Dulles Head Baseball Coach this spring, passed away suddenly last Friday, December 27. He was 57 years old.

Weatherly has been a coach for more than 30 years and spent the last 15 years as a Head Baseball Coach. His coaching stints included Canyon, Van Vleck, Lamar Consolidated, Needville and Ft. Bend Dulles. In 2019, Coach Weatherly led the Dulles Vikings to a 3rd place finish in the tough 20-6A district before losing 2-0 to Katy in a one game Bi-District playoff. Weatherly was named the 20-6A Coach of the Year in 2019.

Weatherly has been married to his wife Bob Ann Weatherly for 38 years. They have 3 children, Cody Weatherly (Bridgeland Assistant Baseball Coach), Kady Weatherly-Voyles and Cooper Weatherly.

His youngest son Cooper had these words about his dad on Facebook. “My dad was a God fearing, hard worker who overcame countless barriers in his life to ensure that he provided the best possible future for his family. Upon my graduation in May, he and my mother will have put three children through college. Three children who he loved endlessly, and who he was loved endlessly by. As a coach, teacher, son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, he touched the lives of so many people around him and is responsible for countless cherished memories.”

Memorial services will be held Friday, January 3, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the River Pointe Church in Richmond.

Dulles Assistant Coach Matt Warren has set up a Go Fund Me account to help with some of the financial burden at https://www.gofundme.com/f/in-remembrance-of-coach-mike-weatherly
