admin | Apr 23rd, 2020Bobby Witt Jr was a SS/RHP who played for Colleyville Heritage 2016-2019. In his senior season, Witt hit .482 with 15 Doubles, 9 Triples, 15 Home Runs, 55 RBIs, 65 Runs, 19 SBs and a 1.051 Slugging Percentage. He also picked up 5 Saves on the mound. The 7-5A MVP, he was also named the Texas 5A Player of the Year and the Gatorade National Player of the Year.
As a junior, Witt Jr hit .476 with 13 2Bs, 5 3Bs, 10 Home Runs, 51 Runs and 55 RBIs. On the mound, he was 2-1 with an 0.95 ERA and 33 Ks. He was named the 8-5A MVP. He was also selected to the 5A All-State Team as a 1st Team SS. He was named to the Collegiate Baseball’s All-American Team as a 1st Team Infielder.
Witt had a spectacular off-season between his junior and senior year. He played in the Perfect Game All-American Classic and was named the MVP of the Under Armour All-American Game. Witt won the Junior Home Run Derby at the MLB All-Star Game. He was selected to play for the USA Baseball 18U National Team and was selected the MVP at the Pan American Championships.
Witt signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of Oklahoma. He was taken with the 2nd Pck of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals. He signed with the Royals on June 12, 2019 with a signing bonus of $7.78 million.
Witt was assigned to the Arizona League Royals where he hit .262 with 2 Doubles, 5 Triples, 1 Home Run, 27 RBIs, 30 Runs and 9 Stolen Bases in 37 games.
