Ryan O’Hearn was an Outfielder who graduated from 4A Frisco Wakeland in 2011. In his senior year, O’Hearn hit .505 with 15 Home Runs and 55 RBIs. He was named the 9-4A Offensive Player of the Year, a 4A 1st Team All-State Outfielder and to Baseball America’s 2nd Team High School All-American. He signed a National Letter of Intent with Sam Houston State University.

O’Hearn started as a Freshman at Sam Houston State, hitting .269 with 25 RBIs and improved to .304 with 30 RBIs in his sophomore year. As a junior he hit .292 with 8 Home Runs and 44 RBIs and was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 8th round of the 2014 MLB draft.

O’Hearn was assigned to Idaho Falls in the summer of 2014, hitting .361 with 13 HRs and 54 RBIs in 63 games that year and was named the Pioneer League MVP. Over the next 3 years, he hit 71 Home Runs in the Minors as he advanced through the Royals system.

On July 31, 2018, O’Hearn was called up to the Royals and hit a home run in his first game. He ended the season with 12 home runs and 30 RBIs in 44 games. He started out with the Royals in 2019 but struggled at the plate. He was optioned back to AAA Omaha in June but was recalled in late July and finished the season with the Royals hitting 14 home runs with 38 RBIs.

In 2 seasons with the Royals, O’Hearn has a .216 Batting Average with 23 Doubles, 26 Home Runs and 68 RBIs.
