THSB Player Profile: Cody Vannoy, Sr, Catcher, Leander Rouse

Cody Vannoy is a 5’9” 165 lb Catcher for the 5A Leander Rouse Raiders. He has committed to UT-Rio Grande Valley.

In his junior season, Vannoy hit .366 with 6 2Bs, 2 HRs, 14 Runs and 18 RBIs. He threw out 13 baserunners from the catcher position. Vannoy was named the 19-5A MVP. He was selected to the THSBCA 5A All-State Team as a 3rd Team Catcher and to the TSWA 5A All-State Team as an Honorable Mention Catcher.

As a sophomore at TAPPS 2A Summit Christian Academy, Vannoy hit .634 with 8 2Bs, 3 3Bs, 13 RBIs and 28 Runs. He was named 1st Team All-District on the District 4 1A/2A All-District Team and was selected to the TAPPS Class 1A/2A 2nd Team All-State.

As a freshman at Summit Christian, Vannoy hit .611 with 3 2Bs, 4 3Bs, 1 HR, 18 RBIs and 20 Runs. He was named 1st Team All-District on the District 4 1A/2A All-District Team.

Vannoy was named to the All-Tournament Team at the 2017 WWBA National Championship.
