THSB Player Profile: Dustin Saenz, Sr, LHP, Corpus Christi King

Dustin Saenz is a 6’0” 175 lb Senior LHP for the 5A Corpus Christi King Mustangs. He has committed to Texas A&M.

In his junior year, Saenz was 9-1 with an 0.57 ERA and 124 Ks in 73 innings. He had the 2nd most strikeouts among 6A players and was 10th in ERA. He also hit .265 and had 20 RBIs. He was named a 1st Team Pitcher on the 30-6A All-District Team.

Saenz was selected as a 1st Team Pitcher on the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State Team. He also was selected as a Honorable Mention Pitcher on the Texas Sports Writers Association All-State Team.

As a sophomore, Saenz was 9-1 with a 1.43 ERA and 80 Ks. He was selected as a 1st Team Pitcher on the 28-6A All-District Team.

Saenz had a 4-2 record as a freshman.

He consistently hit 87-90 on his fastball during summer showcases, topping out in the low 90’s.
