THSB to Add Private School Coverage in 2017

 admin  |    Sep 7th, 2016

THSB will extend its coverage to the Texas Private Schools in 2017. The coverage will consist of all TAPPS, SPC and TCAL high schools in Texas who play baseball. This will include around 100 Private School High Schools.

Just like each classification in the UIL, the Private School coverage will have preseason information in the THSB Preseason Magazine and on the website, record all games played, keep updated standings, post weekly polls, and name a Hitter and Pitcher of the Week.

There were a number of reasons for expanding the coverage to private schools. Those were:
1) Many private schools participate in tournaments hosted by UIL schools
2) A number of UIL schools schedule Private Schools as a regular season game
3) Some UIL players and Private School players play together on summer league teams
4) Some Private School players are among the top rated players in Texas

Brandon Brunson of Midland will be the Private School Coordinator. He will be contacting Private School coaches in the next couple of weeks. Contact Brandon at bbrunson5@att.net to make sure he has your information. Follow Private School Baseball on twitter at @PSTxHSBaseball .

With the addition of the Private Schools, THSB is quick to confirm that coverage of UIL baseball, which includes over 1,100 schools, will continue to grow and seek ways to improve. THSB Coordinators for the UIL Classifications are:
