USA Baseball 18U Team Wins Big over Honduras on Opening Day of Pan Am Championships

The USA Baseball 18U National Team scored 11 runs in the first two innings and went on to beat Honduras 16-0 in a 5-inning run-rule in the opening game of the COPABE U18 Pan-American Championships.

Burleson Centennial Senior RHP Jacob Meador was the winning pitcher giving up 1 hit in 4 innings while striking out 10. Meador faced the minimum 12 batters as the one single given up in the first inning was thrown out stealing by The Woodlands Jr Catcher Drew Romo.

USA Baseball 18U picked up 15 hits and Texas High School Baseball hitters led the way. Colleyville Heritage Sr Bobby Witt Jr reached base on all 4 at bats with 2 singles and 2 hit by pitches. He scored 3 runs and had 2 RBIs.

Romo reached base on all 3 of his at-bats with a walk, single, and double. He scored twice.

Ft. Bend Travis Sr Sammy Faltine came in as a pinch-hitter in the 4th and laced a RBI single up the middle and then later scored.

The USA 18U National Team plays the Peru National Team today.
