Flower Mound’s Danny Wallace Picks Up 500th Win

Flower Mound Head Baseball Coach Danny Wallace picked up his 500th win on Tuesday, March 15 with an 8-2 victory over Allen.  Coach Wallace is in his 4th year as Flower Mound  Coach, chalking up 107 wins as of Friday, March 18.

Wallace’s first year as a Head Baseball Coach was at Austin Hyde Park in 1994.  He moved to Hutto the next year and was Head Coach there from 1995-2000 and then on to Pflugerville Connally for 2 years.  Coach Wallace then became Head Baseball Coach at Georgetown from 2003-2012.  In 2013 he became the Flower Mound Head Baseball Coach where he has averaged 31 wins a season.

In 1998, Wallace took the Hutto team to the State Tournament where they lost in the Semifinals and finished the season at 25-6.  At Georgetown, he led the Eagles to back to back Regional Final appearances in 2007 and 2008.  In his 2nd year at Flower Mound, Wallace led the Jaguars to the State Tournament where they won both games impressively and became the 2014 5A State Champions.

Reflecting upon his high school coaching career, Wallace commented. “Looking back, what I enjoy the most is the relationships I have with the kids and the memories I have been able to be apart of as they have grown up on the field and in the communities.  I’m very grateful for all the kids that I have been able to coach and watch grow.”
