Connor Mayes pitched 8 shutout innings on only 2 hits and 2nd Baseman Drew Judson singled home Connor Fussell in the bottom of the 8th to give Lake Travis a 1-0 victory over Bryan in this best of 3 series.  Mayes struck out 10 batters and did not issue a walk in the game.

Mayes was locked in a pitcher’s duel all evening with Bryan’s Willie Amador.  Amador gave up 6 hits and walked 2 batters and struck out 17.  He held Lake Travis scoreless until the 8th inning.

Jared Triola led off the bottom of the 8th with a line drive base hit to right field.  Fussell was sent in to pinch run for Triola.  Amador was able to strike out the next 2 batters.  However, Fussell had stolen second base to set up the scene for Judson.  Judson drove a 1-0 pitch to right field for a base hit and Fussell was able to score from second base.  It was Judson’s 2nd hit of the evening.
