Interview
What will be the challenges for Covenant Christian this year?

Definitely just the newer freshman coming in. We lost a lot of our pitchers, like six of them. We have a we have a couple of pitchers, but that’s our main loss from last year. I think we have a couple of freshman coming up that we will need. We need to be able to build off last year’s team and just play our normal game. So I believe the challenge will be just staying consistent. And I feel like we have a good chance this year to make it to the state tournament.

What do you like about this year’s team?

We’re like family. Since we don’t have too many kids at our school, everyone knows everyone so we’re often together. So we’re a pretty close family.

So you are a good hitter but you are also considered a good defensive shortstop. Do you favor one over the other? Offense or Defense?

Yes, I’m pretty good at defense. But I like hitting too. I love it all honestly. Being a good hitter and playing good defense.

What’s it like being a player on the team with your dad as the Head Baseball Coach?

I like it. He doesn’t coach me like I’m his kid. He has coached me like any other kid. I’ve grown up with him. He’s been my coach on select teams and most of my teams. So it has been a privilege. He knows a lot. I learn a lot from him. So it’s been a fun time.
