Southwest Christian got down early to McKinney Christian. Then Trendan Parish came in and shut down the rally and provided some offense as well to lead Southwest Christian to a 3-2 victory and a berth in the TAPPS Division 2 Championship vs the winner of the The Woodlands Christian Academy/Lutheran South game.

McKinney Christian scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd when Hayden Faulkner led off the 2nd with a double and scored on Hudson Cross’ single. Trendan Parish came in and after a couple of strikeouts, walked Ryan Radtke with the bases loaded to score Jake Geradis.

But after that, Parish was almost perfect. He did not give up a hit or a walk the rest of the way and struck out 13 batters in 6 innings. He also provided a spark with his bat getting a 2 RBI double in the top of the 4th to score Xander McAfee and Drew Vuduris, tying the game.

The game stayed deadlocked until the top of 7th. McKinney Christian’s Ryan Radtke, who had a great game on the mound as well, pitched to two batters in the 7th, walking one and getting one out, before he was lifted because of the pitch count. After that Luke Bullinger walked advanced on error and scored the go ahead run in the top of the 7th. Parish then came back out and got two strikeouts and a ground to secure the win.

Trendan Parish was named the THSB Player of the Game.
